How to Track Your Volunteer Time In school:

Please sign in and out of the TRAXX system in the front office.
At home: please enter your information in the binder next to the TRAXX computer .

At home volunteer hours include emails, telephone calls, planning, baking, making classroom materials,etc.

Let’s make sure every hour gets counted this year.

Administrative Support

  • Staff Luncheons – Assist by contributing food, and/or assisting with set-up and clean-up for staff luncheons, 4-5 luncheons per year in September, November, January, March and May.
  • Office Volunteers – Assist front office by helping visitors, answering phones, sorting mail.
  • Media Center – Assist staff by shelving books, coordinating Book Fair Family Dinner Night
  • Outdoor Lunchroom – Supervise students outside during lunch periods, Sept-Nov; March-May.
  • Career Day – Greet and assist with hospitality for Career Day speakers.
  • Collating Team – Assist teachers and staff by assembling handouts for distribution with grade reports; prepare First Day packets during pre-planning week in August.

Communications

  • Student Recognitions – Prepare Student Recognitions display case(s), featuring photographs and narrative about current student activities, e.g., World’s Fair, Georgia Heritage Day, etc.
  • Photography – Volunteer photographers are needed for special school and PTA events. Provide photographs for student recognition display boards and publicity releases for the school.

Digital printer available at WBMS for school-related use.

Community and Health

  • Building & Campus Beautification – Assist with landscape projects, seasonal interior décor, campus clean-up and plant care.
  • Environmental Education – Work on environmental education (Arbor Day) and recycling projects for the school community.
  • Red Ribbon Week- Assist with the school’s drug-free education week (October).
  • Lunch & Learn – Assist in coordinating bi-monthly luncheons with guest speaker.
  • Health & Safety – Scoliosis screening volunteers; training provided (February).
  • Parent to Parent – Facilitate parenting workshop, “Parent to Parent”; training provided.
  • Community Service – Coordinate and plan service opportunities for school-wide participation; advertise opportunities for community service through PTA website.

Finance

  • Student Directory – Coordinate advertising sales with area businesses to support the Student Directory (June-August). Assist with the compilation of student directory and distribution (September).
  • School Store – Parent and student volunteers needed to work the school store.
  • Membership – Assist with PTA membership drive, beginning in August through February.
  • Taste of Webb Bridge – Assist with fun, school-wide, family-oriented food fest event.

Student Support

  • Bingo – Assist with all aspects of fun after-school student event in Fall and Spring.
  • Exceptional Children’s Committee – Assist with programs for Exceptional Children’s Week activities in March.
  • Talent Show – Assist with all facets of talent show production: auditions, program, scenery, backstage assistance, performance night in March.
  • 8th Grade Dance – Coordinate and assist with dance event: theme, invitations, decorations, set-up and clean-up (May).
  • Reflections – Coordinate all facets of this National PTA Arts competition at Webb Bridge.
  • Olympics – Participate as volunteers on behalf of school-wide “field day” events (May).

Teacher Support

  • Teacher Appreciation – Coordinate Appreciation events for teachers and staff; donate food items, craft supplies, miscellaneous; help with set-up and clean-up. Held during October, December, February, April & May.
  • World’s Fair – Assist with 6th Grade event by providing food, décor, and classroom assistance.
  • Desktop Stores – Assist with 7th Grade event by providing decorations.
  • Georgia Heritage Day – Assist with 8th Grade event by providing assistance to teachers with hands-on projects, hosting visitors, chaperoning classes.
  • Multicultural night—Coordinate with teachers to assist with food donation and sampling, talent show and parade of nations.
